A Prophetic View of Yom Teruah 2022

By Hildegard Schneider

We read in Amos 3:3:

“Can two walk together, except they be agreed?“ Amos 3:3, KJV.

That is, only two can walk together unless they have come into an agreement.  In other words, we can only walk with YHWH if we are on the same calendar as He is. That’s theologically correct, isn’t it?

And He has already told us from the beginning that:

“Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.“ Genesis 1:14

The Hebrew word for times is “moed“ and means appointed time, holy time, appointed assembly. The lights of heaven, stars, moon, and sun determine these appointed assembly times, which Elohim describes in more detail in Exodus 23:3.  Elohim’s calendar is a lunar-solar calendar, with the moon determining the months and the sun determining the years. YHWH’s feasts are a prophetic image pointing to His son, Yeshua. The adversary also knows this; he knows the moed, that’s why he had nothing more urgent to do than to change the feast times:

And he shall speak great words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and think to change times and laws“. Daniel 7:25

The Hebrew word for time in this verse is “zeman, “which means set times. The adversary wants us to be ignorant of YHWH’s calendar and His feasts, so we cannot prepare and be ready.

Yeshua fulfilled the Spring Festivals at His first coming. Please listen to the corresponding wake-up calls for this. At his second coming, he will fulfill the Fall festivals. Thus it is said,

Concerning the feasts of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.“ Leviticus 23:2

In this verse, the word “feasts“ in Hebrew is “moed, “meaning:  appointed time, appointed place, or appointed sign. The word convocations (assemblies)  in the Hebrew is “miqra, “ and means dress rehearsal. We celebrate the Fall Feasts as a dress rehearsal for His second coming.
The fall feasts include:

  • Yom Teruah- The theme of this Feast is repentance
  • Yom Kippur- The theme of this Feast is redemption
  • Sukkot – The theme of this Feast is rejoicing

There is a prophetic order here: One must first repent so that one can be redeemed, and then one can burst into rejoicing.

The Fall festivals are ushered in by Yom Teruah:

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.“ Leviticus. 23:24-25

From my point of view, Yom Teruah is the most crucial day in the future, especially for the believers waiting for it. It is the day of the return of the King of Kings. I hear objections like: “But nobody knows the day and the hour. “ And it is precisely with this Jewish idiom that he has fixed this day so that we know for sure what day He will return. How then could the house of Israel and the house of Judah in the Diaspora have known when the new moon is, which marks this Feast on the 1st day of the 7th month, which is called Tishri?

When the new sliver moon was sighted, fires were lit everywhere to announce the new moon. From mountain top to mountain top, the fires were lit until all in the land of Israel knew that the new moon had been sighted.  Because of this, two days were always celebrated, which led to the day and the hour no one could know in advance.

But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.
 1 Thessalonians 5:4-5

Yom Teruah is associated with:

Yom Teruah, the day of blowing for awakening; the awakening blast, Yom HaDin, the day of judgment; HaMelech, the day of the coronation of the Messiah; Yom Hazikkaron, the day of remembrance; Chevlai shel Mashiach, the time of Jacob’s tribulation, the opening of the gates; and Kiddushin/Nesu’in, day of the wedding ceremony; Natzal, the resurrection of the dead, rapture); Shofar, the last Shofar; and Yom Hakesh, the day foretold.

These synonyms show how great and significant this day will be and all that will happen on Yom Teruah.

We will go through the tribulation period, and at the end of the tribulation,  the Messiah will be crowned as King upon His return.  The wedding ceremony will then take place, and we will be lifted up to Him along with the dead rising from their graves.

The shofar blast on Yom Teruah has a very important function, namely that YHWH remembers us. We find a scripture about this in Numbers 10:9:

And if you go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresses you, then you shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and you shall be remembered before the Lord your God, and you shall be saved from your enemies.“

The concept of the day is that of remembrance: we remember YHWH, but through the blowing of the shofar, He remembers us as well.

The day of Yom Teruah also has much to do with these themes: battle cry, sounding an alarm, shouting, and an awakening blast.  Yom Teruah is meant to equip you for battle. It is intended to sound an alarm in you. For it is true:

“For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?“
1 Corinthians 14:8

We need to set a clear tone for ourselves and our surroundings. And the scriptures clearly state that Yeshua will return at the sound of the shofar, the Teruah:

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.“ 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Those who know Yeshua will hear the shofar shout and be drawn to it and be before Yeshua‘s face.

Zephaniah speaks about the Day of the LORD,  a time of great tribulation, also known as Jacob’s tribulation:

The great day of the Lord is near, it is near, and hastens greatly, even the voice of the day of the Lord: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.

That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,

A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.“Zephaniah 1:14-16

Yom Teruah kicks off the seven-year tribulation period. This seven-year period is also mentioned as the final seventh week in Daniel 9:27.

The seven-year Tribulation period begins at Yom Teruah, and after three and ½ years (in the middle of the seven years), the “Great Tribulation“ begins. It is similar to labor pains increasing and becoming more intense.  This final three and ½ year period, the “Great Tribulation“ period, is also known as:

*The Day of the LORD
*The time of Jacob’s trouble

The Great Tribulation starting is when the Greater Exodus begins. The Great Tribulation period is, according to Rev 11:3 and Rev 12:6, 1260 days or three and ½ years. Yom Teruah will be very significant during the Great Tribulation. Still, it could be prophetically fulfilled more towards the END of the Tribulation period…as we come into the final Yom Teruah, it becomes the king’s coronation and the wedding with his bride!

The Great Tribulation starting = The Day of the Lord = The Greater Exodus begins.

The Great Tribulation BEGINS  at Passover and ENDS at Sukkot (3 and ½ years.

——————————-

The day of YHWH will be a day of blowing the shofar.

Yeshua said to the Pharisees and Sadducees,

“When evening has come, you say, ‘Clear weather, for the sky, is fiery red;’ and early in the morning, ‘Stormy weather today, for the sky is fiery and.’ The appearance of the sky you know how to judge, but the signs of the times you cannot judge⟩.”
Matthew 16:3

And what do we judge now about the Fall festivals of 2022? They are very special festivals. This year on Yom Teruah, the Shmitta year ends, and a new seven-year cycle begins. And so we can rightly look to see if this year on Yom Teruah, the Tribulation period begins, which is also a seven-year cycle. The seven-year tribulation period cannot start at any time or at any moment, but it will begin with the start of a new Shmittah cycle. If the tribulation period does not begin this fall, then it will be postponed for another seven years.

Every 50 years, a Jubilee year will be proclaimed. Some believe that this year will be a Jubilee year on Yom Kippur.

This is all very special. This only happens once every 50 years. And do you think it will last another seven years or even 50 years?

I am not interested in setting dates here, but when you are following YHWH’s calendar and looking back on everything that has happened as a countdown to the last finale, you can already say it is coming to a head. We are definitely the last generation, which is “acharon“ in Hebrew.

Let’s review some current events. The New World Order is being ushered in. The Brazilian president has proclaimed it will be introduced into Brazil next year.

The Great Reset is being implemented step by step. Biden has signed an order to introduce the digital currency system in the US by the Feast of Trees.

As everything is getting more expensive due to hyperinflation, could this be a sign of the end times?  We are heading for food shortages and famine in various parts of the world. We see extreme drought in multiple places. This does seem to correlate with the first three seals (the three horsemen) from Revelation 6:1-6:

Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “Come and see.”

And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow, and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer. Revelation 6:1-2

Could the global Coronavirus “plandemic“ and the rollout of the experimental use of gene therapy “jab“ and all the subsequent injuries and deaths from the jab, could this be the fulfillment of this first seal?

When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come and see.

Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another, and there was given to him a great sword. Revelation 6: 3-4

Could the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the heightening tensions between China and Taiwan, and the specter of Iran becoming a nuclear-powered nation who will turn that evil power against Israel, could this be this seal being unrolled and partially fulfilled?

When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.” Revelation 6:5-6

Could the hyperinflation of food and energy prices all over the world, could this be this seal being unrolled and being partially fulfilled?

If we refer to the dream of Pharaoh, this could also be another indication: The seven lean and ugly cows that came up afterward are seven years, and the seven empty ears of corn parched by the east wind are seven years of famine. (See Genesis 41:27)

Here again, we have the number of seven years.

Let us watch and pray and blow a loud shofar blast, a Teruah, so those still asleep and not on YHWH’s calendar will wake up, repent, return to the Torah, and be counted among the five wise virgins, not the five foolish virgins!

In this spirit, I wish you all a CHAG SAMEACH for Yom Teruah!

(Yom Teruah falls this year at sundown on Sept 27 and 28.)

Prayer Targets

Heavenly Father, please grant that many more believers may return to the ancient ways and recognize and keep Your Feasts given by You.

Dear Heavenly Father, help us believers who know your Feasts to take them seriously and prepare for the return of your Son.

Dear Heavenly Father, help us to carry your light out into the dark world and tell of your Torah and your Festivals.

Dear Heavenly Father, may we draw ever closer to your son, Yeshua, spending time with Him and hearing His voice so that we may be led and guided by our loving, gentle Shepherd in the days and months ahead.
