In the Valley of Decision

Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. Joel 3:14

By Hildegard Schneider

Yahweh‘s calendar and His Feast days are very prophetic. The spring feasts reflect the details of the first coming of Yeshua and the Fall Feasts reveal to us details about His second coming.

But could it be that Yahweh wants to convey further messages through events that He allows to happen exactly on His feasts?

It is striking that the war waged by Egypt, Syria, and other Arab states against Israel began on October 6, 1973, on Yom Kippur. Until now, the Yom Kippur War was considered a trauma for the nation.

Now, exactly 50 years later, on the 8th day of Sukkot, on Simchat Torah, this previous national trauma has been topped by the Hamas terrorist attack on Oct 7, 2023.
Both attacks happened on two consecutive holidays of the Fall Festivals on His calendar.

One could say that the enemies of Israel may have chosen those very days because the Jewish people were not expecting a war attack on those days and were therefore unprepared. But I can’t imagine that Hamas sat down and calculated that exactly 50 years have passed since the Yom Kippur War and they have now planned another attack exactly 50 years later.

For them, Yah’s cycles mean nothing and they certainly have no understanding of them. But could it not be that a message from heaven is also wrapped up in the events because they took place precisely on these two holidays and also exactly 50 years apart?

We read in Isaiah 55:9: “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

God’s ways are higher than our ways. What can we glean by pondering on this pattern?

It is interesting to note that both attacks took place in the second year of the Shemitah cycle. A Shemitah year began in the Jewish year 5733 91973) and then in 5734 (1973) was the Yom Kippur War. Similarly, 5784 (2023) is also the second year of the current Shemitah cycle, which began on Yom Teruah in 5783 (2022).

According to the principle of first mention, i.e. when something specific is mentioned for the first time in the word of God, we go back to the first mention of the number 2 in the creation story because it is the second year of the Shemitah cycle. And there in the creation account, we learn that a great separation took place on the second day.

And Elohim said, ‘Let there be a vault amid the waters and let there be a division between the waters and the waters.  Elohim made the bulge and separated the water that was below the bulge from the water that was above the bulge. And it was so.  And Elohim called the vault heaven. And there was evening, and there was morning: a second day.” Genesis 1:6-9

So there was a great separation between the waters above and below, i.e. the heavenly waters and the earthly waters or, to put it another way, between the heavenly and the earthly. The creation account also speaks of a gathering of the waters:

“And Elohim said, ‘Let the waters below the heavens be gathered into one place and let the dry land be seen. And it was so.  And Elohim called the dry land the earth, and the gathering of the waters he called the seas.” Genesis 1:9-10.

So, we have here on the second day a separation of the waters, connected with a gathering of the waters and with an element becoming visible, here the dry land, which Elohim called the earth.

From a prophetic point of view, Yom Kippur is the Day of the LORD and therefore the Day of Judgement. And the attack on Yom Kippur once again created a visible division between Israel, and her enemies: the alliance of Arab states led by Egypt and Syria.

This also points to the coming judgment, which will be on Yom Kippur at the end of the Great Tribulation. On this Yom Kippur judgment day at the end of time, Yahweh will judge all those who stand against Him and His word.

For a moment, the Yom Kippur War brought Israel to the brink of destruction. But with heavy losses, Israel was able to repel the attack and Yah ultimately helped them to victory.

But the trauma for the entire nation of Israel, which happened now on the 8th day of Sukkot, on Simchat Torah, is much greater. Why? Because the scale of the attack has been much more malevolent – coupled with a larger worldwide division.

On the one hand, we have the Jewish people celebrating the great festival of joy, the Simchat Torah, when a new cycle of Torah readings begins. The Torah scroll is lifted up with all its teachings and all that it represents: the covenant given at Mt Sinai with the giving of the Ten Commandments.

On the other hand, we have 1500 Hamas terrorists attacking on Saturday morning, Oct 7, penetrating Israel’s border and perpetrating the largest mass slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust. The terror organization’s assault on Gaza border communities left 1,400 men, women, and children dead, 4200 wounded, and 240 kidnapped and dragged across the border into Gaza. Whole families were slaughtered, while babies, toddlers, and the elderly were taken into Gaza. It was a bloody and brutal slaughter against innocent civilians.

This was the glorification of evil, and it was truly demonic.

And the clash of these two fronts is not only happening in Israel but is now increasingly rippling throughout the whole world. Western institutions of all kinds, including universities such as Harvard University, are showing solidarity with Hamas. There are rallies like this all over the world. Of course, there are also declarations of solidarity with Israel, perhaps for the first time.

In previous terrorist attacks in Israel, Israel was always blamed unilaterally.

This polarization between Israel and Israel’s enemies is now becoming apparent and obvious worldwide. And why does this have to happen in advance? Yah is a righteous Elohim and when he judges mankind one day on the last day of Yom Kippur in the Great Tribulation, it will not happen by surprise, suddenly or unexpectedly.

The wickedness and the demonic are no longer hidden and it’s in your face.  Everything is gradually building up to the end. As it says in Matthew 24:8:

“All this is only the beginning of the end – the beginning of birth pangs.”

Every woman who has given birth knows that the contractions become more and more intense and come on faster and faster, until at the end, shortly before the birth, they become unbearable.

The war that happened in 1973 on Yom Kippur and the now far greater demonic attack by Hamas on Simchat Torah on Oct 7 are shadows of what is yet to come,  especially on the last Fall holidays in the Great Tribulation.

Jews have been barbarically slaughtered by the spirit of antisemitism outside the Gaza Strip is an incipient announcement of the end-time battle between the satanic forces that want to destroy Israel. We all know that this spirit has always been in the world and has always sought the lives of the Jews. This is nothing new, but the ferocity with which it has happened now and the global solidarity it has generated has taken on a new character.

We all know that Iran, the biblical Persia, is behind Hamas.  Iran is the mortal enemy of Israel. Poised over this country in the heavenly realm is the demonic prince of Persia, mentioned in the book of Daniel:

“But the prince of the kingdom of Persia stood against me for 21 days.” Daniel 10:13.

And this prince of Persia is in charge, even today.

We all know how Hamas has raged against women, children, and even babies. I will not repeat the horror of this in detail here. The demonic atrocities were committed against the people to whom the Torah was given. And in this end-time battle, this will not be limited to the Jewish people.

“And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the testimony of Yeshua, and for the word of Elohim, and them that had not worshipped the beast and his image, and had not received the mark in their foreheads, and in their hands, and they lived, and reigned with Messiah a thousand years.” Revelation 20:4

The current beheading of babies will continue on the believing martyrs, as this Bible passage from Revelation shows. This barbaric slaughter is not limited to Israel. They are coming for the Christians and Messianics next.

And do those who die as martyrs in the Great Tribulation experience a punishment from Yahweh? Some believers are accusing Israel of being punished by Yah.  Do they believe that Yahweh would choose such a barbaric slaughter, even of babies and their beheading, as a punishment?

This is highly satanic, Yahweh does not do that. If you still believe that it is Yah’s judgment on the Jews, then you are sitting in the seat of the accusers of the brethren, right where Satan sits. And only HaSatan is so satanic that he kills and beheads babies.

When you judge, remember:

“Judge not, lest ye be judged! For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged, and with what measure you measure, it will be measured to you.” Matthew 7:1-2

Better to be quiet and pray and don’t stand next to Yahweh and take on His role of judging. Do not utter words of condemnation, namely Yah judged the Jews because they sinned here and there. Just imagine if your baby was killed so barbarically just because you are a believer and would be associated with the people of the Torah. And others would say that you broke the Shabbat or sinned here and there and that’s why your baby was killed.

David, for example, did not condemn or even attack King Saul, one of Yah’s anointed, because he feared Yahweh more. And if you are one of those mushrooming around the world who claim that the Jews are not even in the land of Israel, then I ask you, why is the hatred of the Jews there? Why is Israel now the target of hatred and annihilation?

They have preserved the Torah and if you believe that, you are undermining your foundation. The prince of Persia knows exactly which group he wants to destroy: the Jews.  If you believe that it is not Jews who live in Israel, then HaSatan knows better.

Now is the time when the great divorce has begun, as the basis for the coming judgment. Which side are you on? As for me and my household, I stand with Israel and the Jewish people! Am chai Yisrael!

Prayer Targets

SCRIPTURE: Sing to the LORD, all the earth;
Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples.
1 Chronicles 16:23-24

PRAYER: Abba, we are saddened that there are some within the Conservative Christian camp who are going speaking out against Israel and against the Jews. Please put a STOP to this Lashon Hara (evil speech/gossip). May these people drink from the clean wells of the truth from your scriptures and not from the poisoned and muddied well of lies!

SCRIPTURE: Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision, for the Day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. Joel 3:14

Abba, we cry out that as you bring individuals, churches and nations into this valley of decision, that they will choose YOU. Yeshua, you are the KING of Israel and you are the KING of the nations. May they choose YOU Yeshua, and may they choose to stand with and support your people, your family, the Jews. May they choose LIFE, TRUTH, LOVE and the land and people of Israel!
