Now There Arose a New King Over Egypt

By Hildegard Schneider

Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who did not know Joseph (Exodus 1:8)

The Torah is the greatest prophecy book that exists. The prophecies in the Torah are cyclical. The biblical principle applies:

“What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun.“ Ecclesiastes 1:9

And That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been; and God seeks what has been driven away.“ Ecclesiastes 3:15

And YHWH tells us from the beginning what will happen:

“There is no other Elohim like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose…“ Isaiah 46:10

When we read biblical history with this understanding, we get a key to what is happening now and we receive grain “that we may may live and not die!” Genesis 42:2

Does not YHWH’s word say:
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge.“   Hosea 4:6

Before YHWH sent a savior for his people Israel, who lived in exile in Egypt, it looked like anything but salvation. On the contrary. A new era dawned for the Israelites, which was ushered in with the following words:

“Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who did not know Joseph.“ Exodus 1:8

This statement naturally also implies that the new ruler had no connection to the Elohim of Israel, since Joseph is a messianic figure, or a type and shadow pointing to Yeshua.

This new age, with the new leader must begin because of the Exodus story. This is part of the story of redemption. Redemption begins with bondage and slavery. The people cry out, God hears and remembers his covenant promise and He raises up a deliverer, Moses.

And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died, and the children of Israel  sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried and their cry came up to God by reason of the bondage.

And YHVH heard their groaning and YHVH remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. Exodus 2:23-24

Since prophecy is cyclical, it must also begin again in our days before the Greater Exodus begins.

The new king, the new president who takes office, does not know Joseph, that is, he does not know the Messiah.

Before YHWH can begin the Great Tribulation and lead his people out of exile, God’s people will come under a new ruler, with new global government. This is a repeating pattern:

“Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who did not know Joseph.“ Exodus 1:8

Under this new Pharoah, life became hard, oppressive and painful:

*The sons of the Hebrews were to be killed after birth (Exodus 1:16).
*They set labor supervisors over the people (Exodus 1:11) to keep them burdened.
*The lives of the Israelites became bitter, through all the slave labor they had to do by force (Exodus 1:13).

Similarly, life has become hard and oppressive under the new ruler today.

But behind all the suffering of the people, which was getting worse and worse, YHWH already had his plan of rescue in His hands.

It is so helpful to look at YHWH’s rescue plan now, in faith, and to know that with all the calamities that must come, He has already prepared the outcome.

If we want the child, that is, the birth of the biblical Zion nation,  we must welcome the birth pangs. It is not possible for this birth to happen without them.

Yeshua WILL gather all the scattered and lost sheep of the house of Israel.  He will reunite Northern Kingdom to Southern kingdom (Ezekiel 37) and He will rule and reign over this restored and united kingdom of Israel for 1,000 years:

Say to them, Thus says YHVH Elohim, Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in my hand. And say to them, “Thus says YHVH, Behold, I will take the children of Israel from amonth the nations, where they have gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land. And I will make them ONE NATION in the land upon the mountains of Israel, and ONE KING shall be king to them all, and they shall no more be two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more…“ Ezekiel 37:19, 21-22

We are getting closer and closer to that day. Let us rejoice in that!

Prayer Targets

Our Good Father, we live in the midst of a rapidly changing world. Your word is our help and guidance. Help us find the right way and stay on it. Relying on Yeshua HaMaschiach, we ask you to speak at the right time and to be prudent in the maelstrom of change.

Through your precepts I get understanding;
therefore I hate every false way.

Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path.“

 Psalm 119:104-105

Our Good Father, in times of need we need comfort and advice.

“It is YHWH who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8

Our Good Father, we desire powerful people who ask for your word and act wisely. “For YHWH  gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; Proverbs 2:6.

Our Good Father,  help us to stay in Goshen in the times of our exile, in Egypt, and to wait for you. And so join your people of Israel and return to your Torah.

“You shall dwell in the land of Goshen, and you shall be near me, you and your children and your children’s children, and your flocks, your herds, and all that you have.  There I will provide for you, for there are yet five years of famine to come, so that you and your household, and all that you have, do not come to poverty.’ Genesis 45:10-11

“Remember the Torah of my servant Moses, the statutes and rules that I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel… lest I come and strike the land with a decree of utter destruction.” Malachi 4:4-5

Our Good Father, we cry out to you, even as the children of Israel cried out to you. We ask you to hear our cry and that your plan of redemption and deliverance would soon unfold!  We stand waiting upon and trusting in you.  Our hope, deliverance and salvation is in you, Yeshua!
