Let us Honor Yeshua and His Torah!

By Hildegard Schneider

Give to the LORD, O families of the peoples, Give to the LORD glory and strength, Give to the LORD the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come before Him. Oh, worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness!
1 Chron 16:28-29

The main concern of our prayers in The TorahHouse is to honor the God of Israel and His Torah.

We offer honor to YHWH because he deserves it. Nobody else deserves praise and honor, as it is written by the prophet Isaiah:

I am YHVH, that is My name;
And My glory I will not give to another,
Nor My praise to carved images.
Isaiah 42: 8.

In addition, we should bring him offerings/gifts that glorify him as part of the honor and adoration. What are those gifts that we bring to His honor?

The gifts we bring before him include approval, obedience, and submission. Glorifying him begins by agreeing with everything He says. He is holy and perfect and all of his statements are holy and perfect:

The statutes of YHVH are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the LORD
is pure, enlightening the eyes;  Psalm 19:8

Listening and agreeing alone will not glorify him, but we must also submit to and obey His instructions!

But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting
On those who fear Him,
And His righteousness to children’s children,
To such as keep His covenant,
And to those who remember His commandments to do them.
Psalm 103:17-18

Yeshua shows us that the idea:  to love the Torah and to love YHVH are one and the same:

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” John 14:15

The Father warns us about speaking about love with words but not following up with actions:

 “So they come to you as people do, they sit before you as My people, and they hear your words, but they do not do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their hearts pursue their own gain. Ezekiel 33:31

This warning is repeated in Malachi 2:2:

If you will not hear,
And if you will not take
it to heart,
To give glory to My name,”
Says the LORD of hosts,
“I will send a curse upon you,
And I will curse your blessings.
Yes, I have cursed them already,
Because you do not take
it to heart.Malachi 2:2

So our prayers in The Torahhouse, which honor YHWH, are just another – but consistent – expression of our walk with him. And by doing so, we prophetically anticipate what will come one day. All creatures will honor Him in the future:

Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice:

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
To receive power and riches and wisdom,
And strength and honor and glory and blessing!
And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying:

“Blessing and honor and glory and power
Be to Him who sits on the throne,
And to the Lamb, forever and ever!
Revelation 5:11-13

But there is another aspect to giving him honor. Giving Him all honor opens a big door for Him to be able to act. Yeshua said this about the town of Nazareth:

 “And he did not do many many mighty works there because of their unbelief.”
Matthew 13:58

The residents of Nazareth rejected Yeshua. They did not give him the honor that was due to him. They stamped Him as an ordinary man, even though they had experienced who He really was. The Lord has to draw conclusions from this rejection:

“And he didn’t do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.”

Especially in our world today, where everything goes haywire, where lies and hatred campaigns increase, we see rightousness being replaced with injustice. We see that much in our world seems hopeless.

Nevertheless, we give YHVH the honor, knowing that He has everything in His hands, and He is guiding and leading everything. With our faithful prayers, we are also paving the way for His help and intervention.

“Talk no more so very proudly;
Let no arrogance come from your mouth,
For the LORD
is the God of knowledge;
And by Him actions are weighed.
1 Samuel 2:30

Let us continue to honor our Father in faithfulness and perseverance in The Torahhouse and ask Him to give more coordinators in other nations and brothers and sisters to pray with us.

Blessed are you all!
